Back to School Goals

I am linking up today with Jess from I {Heart} Recess for her Monthly Goals Back to School Edition.  Setting goals is a great way to "get your head in the game" as you mentally prepare for the back-to-school- season.  Thanks, Jess!

Monday Made It-My First!

Now presenting......my FIRST Monday Made It!  I am linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics today to show you my latest projects.

Made It #1
Thanks to Tara for this great freebie!  I have planned my rotations for Daily 5(2).  Because I have about 65 minutes for my ELA block, I can only have two rotations per day.  I have opted to have ALL students Read to Self for the first rotation while I work with a small group or individuals...then students can follow this for their second rotation:

 Made It #2

I have seen this idea all over Pinterest...but not being a very crafty person, I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out.  In fact, after purchasing my materials, I had to "sleep on it" for a night before I was ready to start.  Here is a progression of my little project:

I l-o-v-e my letters!  Maybe there is a tiny crafter in me after all...:)

Working On a Project...Sure Hope This Works!

I had a great time school shopping today with my 5th grade teacher buddies!  Of course, after the teacher store we HAD to stop by Hobby Lobby...and of course, when I saw these cute letters I thought of a project I could try.  Not being a very crafty person...I sure hope this works because they will be soooo cute!  Stay tuned for my after pics...

Tried it Tuesday! (My FIRST Linky)

Can I tell you how excited I am?? I made my own blog button!  So today I am linking up with Fourth Grade Flipper for my very first linky...Tried it Tuesday!

This was super easy...here is what I did:

1. Open a blank slide in PowerPoint.
2. Insert a background color/paper/pattern...don't stretch it to fill the slide...it will be too big.
3. Insert a shape and fill it with the color of your choice.
4. Add a text box and adjust it to your liking.
5. Once you are satisfied with the result, "save as" a .png file.

My only issue has been with resizing the image...I will keep working at it, though.  Overall, I am happy with the outcome. I am open to advice and tips...so comment away!

Here is what I made:
